Hi everyone!
So, I am feeling in the need of some light relief. I won't say much more than that, except to say that whatever might be going on, we're all going to do better if we can keep ourselves amused. So: here's the options for this week:
- Anything about laughter. Songs that mentioing laughing, something that's funny, or comedy of any form. Use your own judgement about what this means. If you think it fits, it fits. As I'm sure you know by now, I'm not picky.
- (And this is the one I'm most interested in hearing 🙂) Comedy. Songs that are meant to be funny. This one is perhaps a bit trickier, because comedy is really quite subjective, but as long as you think the song is intended to be funny, that absolutely fits. Parodies, jokes, whatever…
As far as option 2 goes, this one can be a bit of a minefield. Even so, I'm sure you'll all behave! Still, I am going to say, to be clear: as long as you believe the humour is intentional, and it's laughing with rather than laughing at then it's absolutely fine. Satire is fine, as long as you're punching up rather than punching down. And goodness knows, we need that right now… I'm sure you all know what that means (and if you're not sure, it's okay, just check first. A PM or a post in this thread is fine.)
Otherwise, usual rules apply. Check the FAQ. No song limits, bring as much as you like. There's likely to be days when I'm slow to listen, but I promise I will listen to everything in full and comment, even if it is a day or so late.
New and returning seasonistas: ignore the rules, bring us a song. We're happy to have you! And for anyone, if you have an old song you'd like us to hear again, feel free to post it.
