Years ago, Pabrizzer hosted a Season where the song title had to have “always” or “never” in it. When I searched my music library, I found that technically the Crosby, Stills & Nash song “Guinnevere” had “never” in the title. Hmm….
The Season 689 theme is that you have to play songs with “yes” in the title. But… how you get that “yes” in the title is your decision. This week you’re allowed to get technical. The song can have the word "yes" in the title, or those letters can be in another word. In my music collection, most of the songs that fit this theme have “eyes” or “yesterday” in the title. You can even have a space or punctuation within the word – for instance, you could play “Tevye’s Dream” from “Fiddler on the Roof”. If you find there’s a song out there called “Faulty Estimate” or “All Ye Sharks”, etc. (or you write one), that would also work.
Since I am known to be a big fan of ‘70s progressive rock, you are also welcome to play any song by the band Yes if you want.
Extras:
On May 1, you are welcome to play a song for dancing around the maypole.
On May 4, you are welcome to play a Star Wars-related song. (May the Fourth be with you!)
Rules:
• The video must be a new video recorded for this Season.
• The video must say that it is for the 689th Season of the Ukulele.
• Multitracking is okay, overdubs are okay. But I'm most interested in hearing you perform a song on the ukulele.
• Original songs are always welcome.
• Collaborations are always welcome.
• Collaborations on original songs? Hell, yeah!
• Videos must be posted to this thread. But not before midnight tonight, Hawaiian time. (And remember, Season 688 still has a day to go!)
• The Season lasts for 8 days, and ends at midnight Hawaiian time on Sunday night, May 4.
• NO MORE THAN THREE VIDEOS! I may relax this limit later in the week.
