Season 690 - The Wrap (part 1)
“So then, young Del,” I hear you say, “…why is the wrap in two parts?”
“First off…” I reply, “…stop trying to butter me up by calling me young - it won’t help in your quest to win this week’s prize - the shortlist has already been finalised. And the reason for the two parter is so anybody who is shortlisted that doesn’t actually want the chance to win the 8-string Freshman tenor ukulele on offer, can let me know that they don’t want to be included in the final winner’s draw. Then I won’t have to repeat the process after the event.”
Okay, that’s quite enough of the ridiculous imaginary conversation stuff - I’m sure you get the idea?
Thank you all once again for your participation in another wonderful week of music here on the Seasons. We had 33 entries in total - I loved them all. And that’s a whole lot of crashing, banging, walloping, splishing, splashing, sploshing etc etc etc going on, I can tell you!
But, sadly, there is only one prize, so I’ve had to be ruthless in picking the shortlist. And then I genuinely couldn’t decide between the last few - hence the final draw that will take place here in a few days time.
So who is on the final list? Read on…
- @UkeCan1 - Wendy’s epic rendition of Tevye’s Dream was a whole 6-minute mini-production of its own!
- @dr_mitch - As far as I can tell, the only one to use up all 5 of his available entries this week. The Doc always brings so much enthusiasm and enjoyment to the table!
- @johnpoole - I loved John’s original, “Bang The Next Drum” - lyrically and musically fabulous!
- @bobjking - Bob’s collab with his friend Paul was a joy - lots of wonderful vocal harmonies throughout and a priceless comedy moment at the end. Four strings each if you win guys! 😆
- @UkeFoote - I’m always pretty mesmerised by Brian’s bass playing, and how incredibly tight the timing is with his awesome uke playing.
If you haven’t made the final list this time please don’t be sad - it was a very close call right across the board.
And if any of the finalists don’t wish to be included in the prize draw later in the week please let me know - I won’t in any way be offended. I’m sure there are a good few of us who already have far more ukes than we really need (which is actually why I’ve decided to part with the prize on offer).
See you again in a few days for part 2 - watch this space!
And thank you all again! :-)
