I just saw Elvis in Omaha a couple weeks ago, his last stop on the tour named "The early songs of Elvis Costello". I used to have a lot of his bootlegs too.

From this thread I have learned that Dylan's Bootleg Series just keeps going and going…I thought it was just the 3-disc set (v.1,2,3) I bought ages ago, but the last song posted is from v.18…now I know. Keep 'em coming!

Hi again Threebird!

I was washing the dishes and listening to Old Man Luedecke's Domestic Eccentric and the second song from that album made me fall in love with it again. It was Jon who introduced OML to me several years ago. I love his songs and the fact that he plays the banjo makes me love his stuff even more.

Today when we went walking I brought the gourd banjo uke out and the song sheet, thinking to record it outdoor. (I am not good at remembering lyrics, and I really respect those who can.)

Oh, I found a video on YouTube of OML performing this song live at the 33rd Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario, July 23, 2016, posted by some random person, and that instantly makes this song qualify for your theme. Here is that bootleg video.

I discovered this song not even thinking about posting anything else and then I got kicked by its boot!

"…. with a bright red suit and reindear to boot" I couldn't resist. And as already mentioned, not being as seasoned as most of the seasonistas, songs I try to learn in one day are a bit rough… thanks threebird for a fun season!

Joko This is one of my favorite songs. I always thought the song was about LSD not pot, and I am having a really hard time believing that that isn't what this song was about. …"It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while…" I think he was just appeasing his redneck fans with that answer. I also am sad to learn of John Prine's passing. Yeah, I now realize that was five years ago, but it was news to me. Nice job.

UkeFoote I was a huge clash fan. I made the 600 mile trek to Colorodo, to see them play at Red Rocks, which had to be one of the most if not the most spectacular amphetheaters around, given the mountains. It was raining in Denver as we could see, but the weather was perfect for us. They had giant projector screens behind them, and I especially remember when they did "I'm so bored with the USA" How the different screens showed a bunch of aerial views of various US cities and they all looked the same. As you may recall, the song "Ghetto defendant" included spoken word with Alan Ginsburg, who lived in Boulder and joined the Clash on stage. I have seen a lot of concerts. That was my favorite tied with Bob Marley and the Wailers. The only bad part was that the acid didn't kick in until the show was over.

Monday twofer. Yesterday I did "big" + "leg", so today I wanted to do "boot" + "river". I couldn't find one, so I wrote one. With a gratuitous additional keyword in the lyrics.

I found a good one, but I'd needed Rob/Wee Ginga One to read the Scottish lyrics, so I decided to look for something else. I considered filming something playing from the boot of my car, but I didn't get round to it.

On my way to Beamish Museum I drove past a sign for a weekly car boot fair, and I decided that settled it. I came up with a few simple verses and melody, added a few chords and here's the result, Boots Boots Boots!

You know those moments when you become temporally detached and lose connection with what time you exist in? Like when you wake up and the sun is weak in the sky, but you're not sure if it's dawn or dusk?

Seeing a post from Ralf on a Monday put me in one of those time vertigo moments.
