It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for the Seasons and all who sail in her. Finding a new home has been a rollercoaster ride I wouldn’t want to repeat in a hurry. Things could have turned out very differently, but for the efforts of four particular individuals, to whom we owe a great debt of thanks:
- @BigKingVelour - Rick was instrumental in finding this new platform and, using his background in IT, invested a lot of time and effort in setting it all up to work as well as it does. Thank you, Rick - you are a true hero!
- @YorkSteve - Steve spent a lot of time testing the forum, finding extra features and providing lots of answers to my questions. And still does - thanks, Steve!
- @Edwin - moved very quickly after UU shut down the Seasons to start up the Google email group that was our temporary home until Rick worked his magic with the new forum. The group provided a vital gathering place for us all - a way of staying together and sharing our thoughts and our music. Without it things could have very quickly unravelled and, I fear, some of us would have quickly lost touch.
- @UkeCan1 - Wendy brought so much energy and enthusiasm and a heap of ideas and positivity to the table at each of the Zoom meetings we had to discuss the way forward. She also set up the Google group for the online open mic group, which in turn provided a platform for others to join in and discuss their ideas, as well as their music.
Without these four fabulous individuals we wouldn’t be where we are now, and it already feels like home. And, of course, lots of you also chipped in with valuable ideas and suggestions and enthusiasm - thank you all for this amazing team effort.
Thank you for reading this - I just wanted everyone to know what was happening behind the scenes to save the Seasons, and to publicly acknowledge and thank the people who made it happen. :-)
