Season 748 - Dedicated Follower of Fashion

dr_mitch

Welcome back Seasonistas, and welcome if you’re new to the Seasons.

This week the theme is clothing. Simply put, I want songs which mention clothes or an item of clothing.

Both covers and original songs are welcome. Once you've posted a new song for the week, you may repost an older song, if you so wish. If you're new to the seasons, for your first song, there are no rules - please post whatever you like. Otherwise, all the usual rules apply. The Season runs from the start of Sunday 22nd March in Hawaii until the end of Sunday 29th March in Hawaii. If you need further clarification on the rules, please see Edwin’s FAQ:

https://seasonistaforum.flarum.cloud/d/16-what-are-the-seasons-of-the-ukulele-and-other-faqs-with-answers

The maximum number of entries this week per person is 66.

And of course season 747 is still on.

I don’t want to sugar coat it. But pguke John will probably come up with some bad pun on this theme. He always has one up his sleeve.

Nearsighted-Lemon-McKay

johnpoole you pulled that one right out of your hat, didn't you?

johnpoole

Nearsighted-Lemon-McKay Look I’d never tailor my comments for some sort of cheap laugh.

OneManAndHisPGUke

Jacket in Southern John! You know I would never stoop sew low! Right, I must (haber)dash (ery) and find some suit-able tunes. Maybe something by A Frock Of Seagulls……

Nearsighted-Lemon-McKay

johnpoole Don't sugar coat it, just sock it to me.

Barbablanca

Oh we'll find out who the wolves in sheep's clothing are with this theme. I'll bet the shirt off my back!

LULU'S BACK IN TOWN - Al Dubin & Harry Warren 1935
I learned this song from one of my first guitar heroes, Jackie Washington. I sang it without the verse for a few decades, but when I heard Leon Redbone do it, I decided that I'd better learn the verse.
Thanks for a great season topic Paul.

It's Hard To Keep A White Shirt Clean Corb Lund for Willie P. Bennett

The late Willie P. Bennett was a friend and mentor to both my sons. I have a few mouth harps that came from his harp belt and hope they still have his mojo on 'em. Willie always wore a white shirt on stage and Corb wrote this song about him.

Renaissance-Man

I always felt a woman wearing her hair tied back with a ribbon to be beautiful, and removing that ribbon to let her hair down, to be poetry in motion.
