Season 749 - K.I.S.S ( Keep it simple Seasonistas)
Hi Seasonistas old and new and welcome to Season 749.
This week I would like you to keep it simple by playing songs on your cheapest, nastiest uke ( or just your cheapest, they don’t have to be “nasty” as such) as I like the idea of playing lovely music on the most basic instrument possible. I get that for some people, their cheapest uke may still be a very good one, but if you can steal, beg, borrow or in some other way, get hold of a “beater”, go for it; don’t worry if it can barely stay in tune, consider it part of the challenge. Perfectly imperfect is the way to go.
Subject wise, give me songs, covers or originals, with the words keep, keeping, keeper, simple, uncomplicated, basic, kiss, kissing, cheap, nasty (or as near to those as dammit) in the title, lyrics, or name of artist/s.
If by any chance you have come across this site as a Newbie, you can post any song you like so long as you play it on a uke, though of course you are also welcome to follow this weeks theme.
You can multitrack, that’s great, but all your tracks have to be made on your cheapest uke/ukes. If you want to add a beat, you’ll need to beat out the rhythm on a uke. Necessity is the mother of invention as the saying goes. Collabs are also welcome.
So, don’t touch that dial, stay away from the reverb, other effects buttons, unless you can find a room in the house with natural reverb, or under a bridge, in a cave etc…. I want to see those cheap nasty ukes, even if it’s just a screen shot at the end to show the uke you performed with.
There is no song limit. There seems to have been a thing recently where you can post a previous song if it fits the theme. I like that idea so it will be the same here, so long as you have posted a new song for this season first. Your blast from the past only has to follow the subject of the Season, it doesn’t have to have been made on a cheap nasty uke.
Also, I feel like it’s been an age since we had a prize, so there will be a prize. What it will be I have no idea, but obviously, I will be keeping it simple Seasonistas.
There, I think that’s enough for you to get your teeth into.
Usual Ts and Cs apply. If you don’t know what they are, or what to do, here’s a link, because I’m too lazy to type them out myself and it explains it all better that I ever could.

Don’t forget you can still dress for success with Paul on Season 748.
Above all, HAVE FUN!
