Alright a new wave of new songs since I last popped in here! @Aviva did Redemption Song (which was actually one that I was planning to do! I guess great Enoch minds think alike). Jon learned a new song and performed it expertly and soulfully. It is so cool having Jon contribute so many tunes. @kolibri presented a really poignant German folk song. Great performance. Del gave us another stellar work with some powerful vocals that overshadowed his always cool arrangements. Berni continues to write songs at a torrid pace. In this one he travels to the future to tell the story about a country that thought it was free.
While I was looking for the Comsat Angels version of independence day, I found out that there are several really excellent songs by the same title. David Byrne has a fantastic one. So do Martina McBride and Ani Defranco. Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison have ones too. So consider that to be my usual request to try one of those tunes, especially if you are at a loss of what to do.
I would also love to hear one of you virtuosos try "Blackbird" by the fab four. Maybe someone already has.
