potmo LimousinLil It is a scene from "Repo Man" my favorite movie of all time (tied with "The Wizsard of Oz)"The point of the guy talking was that everything is connected "part of the cosmic unconsciousnes". So when a coincidence happens such as thinking about a plate of shrimp and all of a sudden someone yells "Plate of shrimp!" it is because of the cosmic unconsciousness. So me thinking of the same song as my sister led to the remark "Plate of shrimp". Our go to expression when a coincidence happens. That should muddy it up a bit more.

LimousinLil Et Bonjour, Tout le Monde! C'est le jour du Tour! And the Stage (Étape) has been reduced by 30 kms. because we are now on red alert with the heat - temperatures up to 40 degrees expected. I'm currently trying to find out the revised timings for when the "Caravan" passes through (this is the "advertising" section where the various sponsors drive through with their floats and chuck exciting little goodies out to the assembled throng) and then when the actual race follows. Our ability to watch the whole event will depend upon whether I can winkle son, Tom, away from his work on the Barn in time. He doesn't like hanging around and I can't quite persuade him that we need to get there a little bit early! And to the songs, many thanks to Brian, for his fab Pink Floyd cover, to Jim for his splendid offerings - one in French - and to Jon, for his original - great to see you writing an original, Jon - with the revised backing images. Exciting day ahead - please keep those songs coming - and I hope to be able to bring photos/video to show you later (if I ever get to actually watch the Race.)

MsBean Salut Val! In an old book of traditional songs I found a drinking song in French, so I decided to bring it to your season. I had already made the video in the key of F, which is not great for my vocal range, when I tried to find a link for the description. The French Wikipedia page has many more verses and presents the son in the key of G, which would have been better suited for my voice.
