SAM NEILL

I was really sorry to hear of the passing of that fine actor, Sam Neill. In watching tributes to him, it turns out he was the really decent chap he always gave the impression that he was …. point proven by the fact that he played the ukulele; who knew?

That is really wonderful Val. Love that uke as well, very pretty, I wonder if it came like that or if he had it painted…now, who do we know that likes to paint ukes? 🤔…… and playing Randy Newman too, how can you go wrong, another fantastic human being. I’m sure you’ll have already seen the vid where Sam on uke, and Jeff Goldblum ( yep, the totally marvellous and slightly bonkers Jeff) on piano play Bye Bye Love? Have you seen this one? Featuring another Jurassic Park alumni, Laura Dern? Thanks for sending me down that Sam and Jeff rabbit hole 👍

RIP Sam Neil, a very fine actor from what I’ve seen (Jurassic Park of course, and Hunt For The Wilderpeople**, forgot he was in Sirens too), and by reputation a good fellow.

** highly recommend this one.

Yes, John, I saw one vid of Sam playing the uke while Jeff Goldblum played the piano … apparently they were great buddies. I hadn't seen the one you linked … thank you! (And Jeff does give the impression of being slightly bonkers … all in favour of that!)
