Hello and welcome to Seasons of the Ukulele chapter 754!
This week the theme is Drag - the performance art, drag racing, and a few of the various meanings of the word. You may submit one song from each of the seven categories listed below, so the Season is self-limiting in that regard.
- Drag Performers: any song, original or cover, released by a drag artist.
- Drag Performance: play any song you choose IF you are performing it in full drag (hair, make-up, attire, attitude, etc).
- About Drag: play a song about drag artists or drag performances, or a song about "being a drag" (as in a downer).
- Drag Racing: play a song about or mentioning drag racing - the long cars that race in a straight line.
- Physical & Mechanical Meanings: play a song about physical & mechanical drag. Pulling: To draw or haul something slowly and heavily across a surface. Physics: The resisting force that slows down an object moving through a fluid or air. Computing: To click and move an item across a screen using a mouse.
- Original: play an original song that is about or mentions drag in any of it's meanings listed above.
- Dragging Them Into The Season: play a song released by Carsie Blanton or Einstuerzende Neubauten (if you dare). I am dragging Carsie Blanton into the Season because I'm a fan and want others to hear her! EN is here because Blixa Bargeld has been popping up in my YT feed a lot recently and I am curious to hear a ukulele interpretation of an EN song.
All the usual small print & disclaimers apply, including First Time participants are free to play any song they like. Season 754 starts at 00:00 Hawaii time on Sunday July 26th and ends at 23:59 Hawaii time Sunday August 2nd.
The playlist is HERE.
Season 753 is in progress & going strong, getting Bigger & Weirder by the hour, so get over there and get your songs in while they are still in Season!
