Hmm… I'd have to go with Week 633 and my cover of "A Thousand Years". I was only vaguely aware of the tune before that week; it was a small hit a dozen years ago or so. However, musically, it's something special, IMHO. I like it for the intonation of "THOUsand" and the "One Step CLOSER" refrain. It's a very satisfying song to play or hear.

Since it made such an impression, I added the song to my practice repertoire, becoming one of the songs I'll play regularly for leisure. Consequently, I can play it now much better than week when it was brand new to me.

This one is both interesting and oddly tricky. The thing is, anything I’ve recorded more than a couple of months ago tends to make me wince - I choose to believe this is a sign I’m still improving (I should be, right? I’ve been playing less than 4 years, and never gained traction with a musical instrument before that).

But it feels like cheating to post something too recent. So I nearly went for the collaboration I did with Joo, which was joyful - but again that would feel like cheating as Joo did all the hard work.

But there’s this, from 8 months ago, which was bizarrely popular on YouTube with over 700 views. I don’t know why.

Bystander

One from early in the year, Sotu 623 to be exact.

I liked this one because I tried a new picking pattern and it seemed to suit this song perfectly.

Unfortunately I've yet to find another song which suits the pattern.
