- Lisa: "God Has a Purpose for Me", original. She's still alive in 2024 and looking forward to a procedural in 2025
- Jim P: "Day After Day", original. Thankful that 2024 is over.
- Edwin: "Night Song", Jon Duncan. Great harmonica solos! In 2024 he tried a live open mic and now loves them and finds them fun. He also tried using a new harmonica holder and it works!!! Way to go, Edwin!
- Del: "Don't Give Up On Us", Daivd Soul from the Starsky and Hutch telly shows in 1977. In April 2024, he met Charldene and her husband in Canterbury for a lovely visit. He got chopped off UU but the good thing is that this new site is up and running. Thanks to Rick for getting the new site up.
- Marc: "Faithless Love", JD Souther/made popular by Linda Ronstadt. He got a knee replacement in February 2024 and he's now riding his bike, playing golf and will soon be playing pickleball. In 2025, he wants to gain more mobility and his grandson is graduating from college in May!
- Jim Y: "I Know That Guy You're With", Robert Earle Keen. In 2024, he reunited with people from his past.
- Brian F: "The Neon Rainbow", Alex Chilton/Box Tops. He had a great visit with his brothers in the fall, thankful for his good health, visited his daughter, Jane and his friend Brian in Minnesota.
- Rick: Rascals' song. Sorry but I missed the title. He's got the greatest life. He flew to Iowa for a show by Big Star Quintet even though there was a tornado watch and an audience of only 100 people. In 2025, he'll be in Memphis to see a drummer where he won a tour of the studio.
- Charldene: "You've Got a Friend", Carole King. 2024 was a year of travel…seeing Del in person and seeing polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. 2025 will be a year of more travel.
- Wendy: "White Room Christmas", a prody of White Room and an Irving Berlin vs. Cream (mashup). Another winner, Wendy! 2024: New SOTU, joined an a capella chorus. 2025: She has a business vision for the world, and good connections with family and others
- Michael: "Here's Where the Story Ends", The Sunfdys. 2024 was a year of loss. His classmates lost parents and spouses. 2025 the Detroit, Michigan Lions will be winning the Super Bowl.
- ILA: "Bad Romance", Lady Gaga. 2024 in Amsterdam, she visited the Anne Frank House and was awed by being in this small attic space. She started taking ukulele lessons. In 2025, she's going to London and hopes to connect with Edwin, Del and Steve.
Enjoy a great week! See you at next Saturday's Open Mic for more wonderful music, conversation, laughter and fun! Oh, the interesting things we learn at these open mic sessions!
Cheers!
Charldene
