Hello, my UK folks!

I will be in London on Friday, July 11 and would love to get together with those of you in the UK who can meet up in the afternoon or evening. I do not know much about UK geography, so I apologize if meeting me in London is not feasible, but I will only be there for a short while. If you can bring a uke and we can play something together as a group, that'd be AWESOME. We could record it and post it to our new forum, and as far as I'm concerned, that would be the BEST souvenir EVER.

So please, Chris, Del, Edwin, Steve, Bobby, and all my other UK sweethearts, please, please, please mark your calendars and tell me we can have tea and tunes. I'm genuinely excited about the prospects of actually meeting you in person, and I sincerely hope you can make it.

I will do everything I can to make this meet up - you’ve given us plenty of notice, Ila, so it should be more than feasible for me. I hope as many others as possible can attend - should be a special occasion! :-)

It's entirely possible - it's usually fairly easy for me to travel in July (though it's still quite a trek from central Scotland of course!). I hope I can make it!

Quick update.

I think I can do this if you are all still up for it!

I'm going camping that weekend (it's the Shottlesham ukulele thing which Prof Chris organised after Hollesley ended) but I can arrive a day late!

What's the plan?

Has anyone made any plans for travel yet? @Ila , are you still coming to jolly old England? Do I need to get my Pearly King outfit dry cleaned gor bless you guvnor and no mistake etc?

I’m certainly planning to be there, John. Steve @YorkSteve has already bought his train tickets. My train journey will be thankfully much shorter and easier than most. Where in London are you staying, Ila @Ila?

I wondered if it might be an idea to pick 2 or 3 easy songs for us all to practice before the event? If the weather’s decent maybe meet up in one of the big parks? Any other ideas/suggestions? 🙂

DelGriff Tapas and I are staying in South Kensington at a hotel called Ampersand. As for songs, I vote for The Lion Sleeps Tonight. It's easy and fun.

Another suggestion for something easy - "Pay me my money down". Just C & G7. Start on C. Change chord every time you sing "money".
