My apologies for thinking too much. This week is about FRUIT. There's nothing serious about fruit.
It's mango season here in Myanmar, and my thought was to drive around a bit and record the heaps and heaps of mangos in front every market stall and corner store on every street in the city. Then add a song I love made mango, and I'd have a nice little videography project done. WHen I was able to get them at 400 kyats (US D$.899) each earlier in the week, I started to think economics… I've seen mangos sold in the USA for three bucks each - people will pay that… If I sell a mango to the USA for three bucks, the new tariff of 44% on EVERYTHING from Myanmar, that mango now costs four bucks…$
My whimsical re-writing of Guy Clark's Homegrown Tomatos gets a little political at the end.
I'm quite glad I went back to Jupiter Restaurant and Bar.
What they made for me at the end of the night was amazing.
