AlanDP This is an old Boxcar Willie song. He was a country singer a long time ago whose gimmick was dressing like a hobo and singing songs that were mostly about cowboys, horses, hobos, and/or trains. Back when I used to play with a group at our local nursing home, someone who liked my singing requested that I do this song and it became one of my regular songs that I did quite often.

UkeCan1 Although there are many animals mentioned in Tom Lehrer songs, this was the only one I could find that mentions a horse ... though it's mentioned secondary to a different animal. Thankfully, it's from An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer, which I used to play until I wore out the cassette, so I knew it pretty well.
