Hello! A big and warm welcome to Season 721 of the Ukulele!
when i signed up to host a few weeks ago, i did it because I had not hosted for several weeks, not because i had thought of a theme.
for me it was a case of, Sign Up First, Think of a Theme Later.
then, last week, i had this idea -
Theme 1:
Play me songs that mention item(s) in your SHOPPING LIST or WISH LIST
what is on your shopping list this week? dish-washing detergent? mangoes? extra large free-range eggs? new undies? Christmas present for the relative just because she gave you something last Christmas and you feel obliged to give her something back this Christmas? latest book by your favourite author? new gardening gloves? a train or air ticket to visit relatives in another town or country? new ukulele?
(i'm not sure if there are songs that mention "extra large free-range eggs", but you can write one this week)
If you find your shopping list uninspiring, then play me songs that mention something from YOUR WISH LIST.
Theme 2:
Play me the song(s) you want to play if you have only 8 days to live
last week, my neighbour told me his partner has about 2 months left to live, according to her doctor. I have not stopped thinking about them since then, and it made me think of this second theme.
if you have only 8 days left to live, and you HAVE TO play some songs on the ukulele, what songs will you play?
so yeah, these are my themes this week.
you can also combine both themes and play me a song from your shopping (wish) list if you have only 8 days to live.
Some other things:
limit to 8 songs this week.
the shopping list can include any kind of goods and services, does not have to be an object. E.g.. plumbing, haircut, etc.. are all fine.
i am quite open to any song you like to play. be creative or crazy or absurd with the items in your shopping (wish) list. that way, you can play any song you want to play. i am curious about the things in your shopping (wish) list, haha. Hope that sounds fun enough for you!
Start time : 7 December, Sunday, twelve midnight, Hawaiian time. (you can easily check what time that is for you..)
End time : 14 December, Sunday, twelve midnight, Hawaiian time, the following Sunday.
Multitracking is welcome. this being a uke forum, please include the uke.
