Season 721 - Your (Shopping) Wish List

Barbablanca

May her passing be as painless as possible 😥

OneManAndHisPGUke

Hi Joo, hi fellow Seasonistas. Just dropping by to leave this silly Haiku as I don’t have much time to do anything else this week. Anyway, I had to write one called Extra Large Free Range Eggs, I just had to…… words are…

Genie. I wish for

Extra large Free-range eggs if

You would be so kind.

OneManAndHisPGUke

Ps, your painting is simply so beautiful and moving Joo.

PPs, hats off to whoever made the snowflake effect 👍

Edwin

Here's a TMBG song about a mundane thing on my shopping list…

When I sing in public, sometimes people tell me the spoken introductions are the best bits so I did that in the video here instead of in writing. I'm not sure what to make of this. Perhaps I should skip the songs and just do the intros 😉. (Come to think of it, isn't that how Billy Connolly's career as a comedian started?)

potmo

If I Were a Rich Man from the musical "Fiddler on the Roof".

A rather ambitous wish list! I remember watching this musical when i was like 6 years old. I have a recollection of a handful of albums that my family played all the time during my childhood. Fiddler on the Roof and Sound of Music were both part of this rather limited playlist or at least limited to my recollection.

joo

Barbablanca i hope the doctors are wrong. my dad was given a few months to live but he went on to live for 2-3 years.

joo

good day and

good afternoon and

good evening to you Seasonistas!

i am delighted to see more entries today. nice. always happy to see your friends playing music.

John! @OneManAndHisPGUke what a wonderful little song! and I love the drawing! so cute! I love eggs. they are always on our shopping list.

Edwin! @Edwin i think you have a natural something that makes you a great comedian! all the best comedians have it. it's the calm face, i think. i wish i have a calm comedian face too. love the TMBG song and always a delight hearing your songs, covers or originals!

David! @potmo did you only just started playing not too long ago? i think you're so natural in your playing and singing. i also think you will become a really really awesome player one day. you're already quite good! I would love to listen to you play So Long, Farewell!

OneManAndHisPGUke hats off to whoever made the snowflake effect

That would be me. Although, to say I made it would be a slight exaggeration… more a case of finding the ‘Christmas Time’ feature on the admin settings list and clicking it to ‘on’. Which took me at least a couple of seconds. But don’t worry - I had a nice long rest afterwards. Unfortunately, the wonderfully festive and incredibly realistic falling snowflake effect was wasted on one of our number, who described them as “strange little balls floating across my screen”.😆 I won’t say who it was, but she has a history of creating trouble on the forum! 🤔😉😁

johnpoole

Coffee is always on my list. Whether it is a cheap huge jar of Aldi instant or a double shot cappuccino from a cafe. I love coffee and I love Suzanne Vega . In "Tom's Diner' there is some coffee frustration.

johnpoole

DelGriff Admittedly I can see why some may be concerned with the sudden appearance of your strange balls!🙂

joo

I filmed Jon singing a song called Hot Coffee 2 nights ago. he almost never records anything at night anymore, but he found this song online and instantly liked it and had to play it! I just realised that this fits the theme after watching John's Tom's Diner. I asked Jon if I could include this in the playlist and he said Please!

so, here's another coffee song!

potmo

hmm has coffee been covered in a season?

johnpoole

I just realised it has been a year since the Great Schism of 2024. In history probably only comparable to the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan.

Well done to those who set up this forum and kept it running. Been very smooth sailing for us participants with rarely if ever a glitch.

UkeCan1

It's mango season! I've bought two trays of mangos already and have ordered a third for Christmas week, the last delivery from the local producer I bought the second tray from. They are so good!

I have a fridge full of mangos and other fruit. Yum yum! Bring it on.

Here's a parody I wrote for "fruit Season" (594) - "Mango No. 5", based on Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5".

I was hosting Season 666 when it happened … and will be hosting 722 next week. Go us! It's been a great year in our new home. We Seasonistas are resilient and love to do what we do. 🎸🥰🎉🥂

joo

potmo I think it might have been, probably with tea? i tried to search through the archive on the previous Seasons forum and stopped after 10 seconds. (are you thinking to do a Coffee season, David? hehe)

joo

UkeCan1 we have been eating mangoes too! they turn soft so quickly though! even in the fridge. have you ever tried Mangoes sticky rice? A popular Thai dish. SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!

PS. I will check out your Mango song tomorrow! going offline now.

We have a full list on this forum too, starting here.

You don’t have to look far down the list to see that a Seasonista formerly known as *Eugene Ukulele hosted ‘Season 35 - Coffee, Tea and Honey’.

I don’t have the stamina to go through the whole list, but I’m sure there’d be no objections if you wanted to host another coffee-themed season after all these years, David @potmo .

*Ironically, I think I’m right in saying that Eugene Ukulele is none other than Mr Jon Duncan - Joo’s hubby! 🙂

Threebird

Thanks for hosting and choosing a neat theme! I learned this song for the Season so I wouldn't need to make an additional shopping list to take to buy ingredients for my lunch. Last time I didn't take a list and ended up buying dirt (not the best lunch on its own, but…).

Here is a simple cover of 'Dirt Made My Lunch' by The Banana Slug String Band (F Bb and C are the chords), a Joo-esque kinda song for the Season (it needs her signature animations though).

CanadaJim

I may be wrong, but I know I posted Java Jive and Mississippi John's Coffee Blues in Season 650, possibly hosted by Marin. I think the topic was Coffee.
