Hey, people!

I've not lost the ability to correctly tell the time, I'm posting early because I'm off out in a bit to the north Derbyshire utopia of New Mills and won't be in any fit state to do it later…

This week is all about physical human contact in the form of a hug, a cuddle, an embrace, being held, holding someone, taking someone in your arms, having someone take you in their arms, holding hands or just a reassuring hand on a shoulder/knee.

Any mention of the above in song title, lyric or band name is fair game!

Usual start and finish times apply and all the usual terms and conditions.

Originals, collaborations and multi-tracking are all positively encouraged!

Try and limit yourselves to one entry a day, please. I'm a busy boy…

For Joo's #6, I spent way too long trying to come up with a good song about a couple who've been together a long time, or maybe about going to a park. Then I asked my FocusMate friend Gemma, who knows the best songs.

She suggested the perfect song. It has everything - uplifting tune, evocative lyrics, longtime love, a park, and two forms of human contact - hand to hold you and interlocked fingers.

Here's one of my originals written specially for this week
I was inspired by our current domestic situation. We spend our evenings cuddled up on the couch watching a movie or a series.

But as we actually live on the Mediterranean coast, my narrator's details in the song draw more on my Dad's old place in Wales, than where I live now. That said we have had an unusually cold winter this year.

I bought a toy recorder from Flying Tiger for €3.50. The first one was taken back because it wouldn't play some of the notes. But the second was fine. It's pocket size and every time I pick it up I feel inspired to write a tune. That's how this song started.

It's been a while, lots going on unfortunately. Thanks for hosting Bob, trying out my new uke, a Flight Lily Steel Strung Baritone which I've restrung with some Cordoba Mini Strings in a GCEA tuning. A Beatles song predictably, Eight Days A Week. I've had to edit it down to less than a minute and post it as a short to avoid being blocked on YT.
