YorkSteve So great to see you back, Steve! I hadn't realised that you were moving - total nightmare! - so glad you've come out the other side and that you're back here, where you belong! You are quite correct that the French are very keen on revolutions and just protesting in general. Our local town/village signs have mainly been turned upside down by protesting farmers, and last year, there were tractors blocking the entrance to the motorway. (I'm not exactly sure what they're protesting about … just that it's something to do with being under-funded.) I saw "Les Mis" many moons ago in London.

(Hot again here and I am currently coping (?) with a flooding washing machine. Family arriving this evening and they only have to look at an item of clothing for it to need washing … help!!!) Please get back on those bikes and bring me some more songs today … I need cheering up!

And, since there's no one here, I shall take this opportunity to post my blast from the past … mainly because it has some absolutely unbelievable photos from early races. Apparently, Le Tour was begun in 1903 to boost newspaper sales. The following year's race was marred by scandal - some of the competitors were said to have taken trains - and there were many disqualifications. From these rather inauspicious beginnings, the Tour has been an annual event, with the exception of the years encompassing the First and Second World Wars.

Ok feeling more awake? Good. So my question was if you needed fro the song to be entirely in French or if a song like "Michelle" for example would count. Looks like most folks have decided that, yes you can have a few words of French in it? I know you wantred me to do a whole song, and so I did but, in case I want to post again, I am pretty sure that I am not going to be able to suffer through a whole song. It was fun and all but time consuming. I remian in a trance like state Val, although I have moved on from your intro post and have found several different shiny objects to hypnotize me.

Now, what was the question, Sir? Oh, I do not need a song to be entirely in French … just a nod to the French language is sufficient, or, alternatively a song about mountains, about anywhere in France, or about Paris.
