Ah! A couple weeks back I played the Clash song's "Living in Fame" which name drops UK bands - Madness, the Specials, the Selector, the Beat, and more - on the scene while the Clash wrote and recorded Sandinista!
Years after his time in the Clash, Joe Strummer wrote another name dropping tune for his band the Mescaleros, "Global a Go-Go." In this one Strummer name drops many of the musicians and scenes that made it onto the BBC World Service radio show he'd hosted in the 90s.
Tricky to play since it doesn't follow the usual four- or eight-bar pattern we punks expect. Fun, though!
