For season 671 The Gift of a Song, I've been an awkward cuss and done an instrumental version of a song.
I first heard this back in the 70s when The Carpenters did a version, at first I thought it was nonsense song as we had never heard of half the things that they were singing about. It sounded like Elton John and his "Prestige A Gammon" song.
Then in the early eighties I got into Keith Floyd and watching his "Floyd's American Pie" TV program, and he visited Louisiana and cooked a Jambalaya...now a staple of the Jarvo cuisine.
It all started to become a bit clearer , from "Jambalaya" I began to search out other Cajun and Zydeco music (fruitless back in the 90s by the way) . Other Cajun and Southern recipes, came along , then in 2010 I became enamoured with the piano ackordeen and really started to research the Cajun,Zydeco genre .
From the piano ackordeen came an interest in a single row box ....which I prefer...I like my piano key board left to right , not top to bottom !!
So , what's not to like about this choon, ya can play it, dance to it and best of all , you can eat it !!
My gift is a Cajun dish.
