And yet another:
"I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman"
The informative part.
A hit single in 1967 composed by British songwriters Roger Cook
and Roger Greenaway.
The original was whistled by the made up character of Whistling Jack Smith (a nod to Whispering Jack Smith a singer in the 1920 -30 era and a comeback in the 40s). The song is noted for its false ending. After the last chorus, a voice shouts "Oi" and the tune starts up again, then fades out.
The “Whistling Jack” persona was provided by Billy Moeller , stage name Cody Wells and he mimed to the whistling, whose origin is attributed to either John O'Neill or Noel Walker .
It was a novelty record, but stayed in the charts for twelve weeks !!
I cannot whistle for a dog, so I screeched some harmonicas.
Interestingly, it was going to be called "Too Much Birdseed", hmmmm, I can see why ,but it isn't as catchy as the eventual title.
Its as rough as a two hour project gets LOL.
