DelGriff I hope this is okay, Steve - I added some vocal harmonies to the song I posted yesterday. They feature so prominently in the original that it just seemed wrong not to add them in to my cover. This wasn’t an easy task - I’m not entirely sure if it works or not? YorkSteve I will swing the balance slightly back towards The Byrds with this one. One of their many covers of Bob Dylan songs, and one which has been done by loads of others too. Dylan's original clocked in at seven minutes, but the Byrds edited it down to about three. Bruce Springsteen is currently ending his shows with it, and is also doing the cut down version, presumably because the evening has already gone on for long enough.
UkeCan1 There is a Season, turn, turn, turn. OBviously they were referring to the Seasons of the Ukulele. Brian has already done a fabulous version of "Turn, Turn, Turn" … but it wasn't THIS version, which reveals the true intent behind the song (and the bible verse on which it's based). "There is a Season (of the Ukulele) Turn, Turn, Turn".

CanadaJim One more song, and I was thinkin' that my favourite opening line to a song was, "I read the news today Oh Boy!" so maybe I should do A DAY IN THE LIFE, then I realised that my other Beatles' song, AIN'T SHE SWEET?, was recorded before Ringo joined the band and I recalled Maggie singing OCTOPUS'S GARDEN to the kids when they were three so I got her to help me out with this Ringo Starr song.

Joko When looking for a Beatles tune to fulfill this week's challenge at the Seasons of the Ukulele, I didn't want to turn to one of the dozen or so tunes of theirs that I already know fairly well. This fits into that category of songs I wouldn't know from just the title - Things We Said Today, but when on hearing, oh right... THAT one. I hope you like it.

UkeCan1 The only legitimate twofer. The Beatles did a well known cover of this love song from The Music Man, "Till There Was You". Val herself already did it this week, so I guess that means she likes it!
Barbablanca Late to the party! It's been a busy week. We have been up on the Costa Brava for four days. I was performing at a Festival commemorating the loss of the ship in my previous posting to YouTube. It was a great festival with very appreciative audiences. We (The Intergenerational Brigade) performed on Friday Evening, Saturday Midday and Saturday Night.
YorkSteve All up to date again, with just the last few hours to go. If anybody is contemplating hosting a season, my advice is "just do it". Let's keep this thing going!
