A group of us from Brisbane City Sounds chorus went hiking today … and, well, wouldn't you know it, I just happened to bring a ukulele. 😉
I know we're a long way from Christmas, but for us it started last night. Our big holiday concert is Nov 28, and this was the first song worked on - "Feliz Navidad" by José Feliciano. Bonnie remembered we had looked it up and it is from 1970.
Featuring, L-R:
- Sheryl (baritone)
- Wendy (bari) + Kala Pocket Uke (backpack-friendly)
- Daisy (bass)
- Deirdre (lead)
- Carolyn (bass)
- Bonnie (bari)
- Lyn (tenor)
That's a whole lotta baritone - the middle harmony part that's supposed to disappear in the mix. (I'm one of them, so it sounds right to me!)
We sing it in G - the sharp-eyed might notice I'm playing F shapes. That's because the Tiny Uke doesn't intonate properly in C, so I tune it up to D: A-D-F#-B.
