CanadaJim hmm. looking at the photo of the Port Hope egret, i think perhaps the one I saw could be the Little Egret and not the Great Egret. They are majestic, aren't they?
I just made a song about the bird life (and a couple other animals) along Snug River near our house. This song came about after I wrote: "It's not easy being an egret" in my previous post. I used videos of birds and animals I took to make this video. You can see the echidna too.
words to said song here:
(i know the song probably sucks but it's just a quick way for me to make a video of the wonderful animal life along Snug River.
It's not easy being an egret, It's better being a swan. But the swan not only gets a sore neck, She also gets taken for a ride. It's probably best to be an echidna With his opportunistic snout. And although the jack jumpers give him a wide berth, The echidna has memorised their home address. No GPS can beat the heron In Snug River's stalking contest. It's mind-boggling how she can spy from the sky The tiniest of fish's eye. Life is probably better for the ducks, But not so if you are a Sliver Appleyard. For his docile and gentle nature means He cannot get near to the oats-man's fodder. The silver gull loves her tap-dancing. The turbo chook runs like there are ants in his pants. The oystercatcher dances alone. The plover lets out a blood-curdling cry. It's not easy being an egret In this wild and windy day. The superb fairy wren ran. The cormorant minds his own business. He parks himself on the dead tree And airs his armpits in the sun.
