Hello from an overcast, a bit cold but otherwise very pleasant Thursday afternoon in Tassie.
We went out this morning. Flowers, groceries - ought 2 bunches of flowers for our cemetery visit this weekend. Mother's day in 3 days. It was great that Jon did a set of 3 songs on mum's old couch. She would have enjoyed the set. I can picture her sitting here with a cup of tea and gently tapping her foot and singingly softly along too. Thanks for the sweet and thoughtful and gorgeous set of 3 songs, Jon! That was very enjoyable. The love you have for these songs shines through so well. You are literally glowing singing them! And boy, you are pretty good on the uke too!
Jon brought another fun song called Who-oo? You-oo! That's Who! You can see 2 of John @johnpoole 's paintings (prints) on the wall.
Alan brought us a song by Lew Brown and Albert Von Tilzer with some oompa-oompa-oompa that made me smile. Jon made a comment on that - he knows these songs quite well - that it was unusual to see so much minor chords by these songwriters - but they contrasted well with the major chords - which, both Alan and I thought made the song sound a little strange, but in a good way! And Oh! by Gee! by Gosh, by Gum, by Juv, Oh By Jingo, I really enjoyed Alan's rendition!
Jim brought us another version of Hank Williams' Hey Good Lookin' too! His has a swingy, jazzy sound to it. So, so, so good!
I really enjoyed the songs, Alan, Jon and Jim! Thank you!!!
Keep the songs coming! I will check back this evening!
