Season 742 - INTERJECTIONS!

David @potmo showed up (yay!) with 2 new recordings. The Beatles, he said, were the kings of Interjections. I, who know little about them, realise that all their songs that I know have some kind of exclamation or interjection!

And WAIT! is totally an interjection! It is literally an interruption!

I really enjoy listening to you all play and sing.

I will check back again before I hit the sack.

an old folk song that seems to have its origins in Longfellow's Hyperion (1847)
and was referenced by Laura Ingalls Wilder in her writings,
but the song is often credited to Blind Alfred Reed.
either way, to me it's just a fun old tune though i'm sure the original warning was a serious one 🙂

Yes I know this isnt the proper title, but I took the liberty to correct that mistake. Other than forseeing a future of search engines, where the title does run in to problems (#1 Result: Listen to Hey Jude by the Beatles) Anyway this is an interjection masterpiece by the masters of the interjection-in-song

Hello again from a sunny morning here in Tassie, interjected by some blustery wind earlier on!

Hope everyone is feeling fine today.

And thanks to Jon and David for your songs!

Jon brought a sort of cautionary song about a man who can't grow his moustache well, from a gorgeous spot in Margate, Tasmania, although it was a sort of overcast day when he was there singing the song. The repeating Beware, OH take care line is in my head now. haha.

And David brought us another Beatles song. He played the chords up (and down) the fret very smoothly. Bravo, David! The "do da doo" interjections are ringing in my head too. LOL.

Seeing how the Seasons has become lately, I don't think there will be many more entries, but I am hoping to get MORE!!!

Jon, your 3-song video you did the other day? I am counting that as ONE submission. So, I think you might be able to bring more!

On the word game, I am amazed that Paul @dr_mitch has currently 100 words out of the word INTERJECTION!!!

bit rough but that's how we roll 🙂 lovely old traditional kiddos song
i learnt from Jean Ritchie's gorgeous 1968 album,
Marching Across the Green Grass and Other American Children Game Songs
we were at a place called Missing Persons Garden at Dru Point in North west Bay
it's a beautiful spot. i made a little film about it last November

Thanks for your songs this week, Jon! You know how much I love you as a uke player and performer and most of all as a fellow Seasonista! I know you have been watching and commenting on the submissions this week, and I know you enjoy them. That makes my job as a host feel like it's worth it!

It's a sunny Saturday here and I am gonna spend more time outdoor instead of in front of the computer! I will check back later in the day.

Here is one of my brother Randy's songs which qualifies due to a single "hey" in one of the verses. I can't find where he ever played this for any of the seasons. This actually was a collaboration writing… we wrote the chorus together back in the 70's and about 11 years ago Randy wrote some verses to go with it. This is what we ended up with.

joo Well for a rank amateur such as myself, I see her "simple" pickings as seeming simple because she pulls it off so effortlessly. When I try it, it no longer seems so simple.

I can't resist another...

Every time a new season comes out, I always have one or two reactions. The first one is, "OMG This is so easy every song will qualify!" Then I realize it is not as easy as I thought, especially if it involves songs I like and want to learn to play. The other reactin is "OMG! This impossibl! Then I think a while and every song comes to mind. Joo's themes seem to be the first category. Although she is always wide open and lenient with her topics, there become a certain set of songs which really speak to the topic.
This ond is more ofr a squeeze-the-puzzle-piece-into-the-slot-if-it-doesn't quite fit slot, but I think I deserve it after my previous 30-interjection contribution (OK 27 if I dont try the Whoa and do da do at the same time and 24 since I usually space out a few do-da-dos but still...)
Joo you rock with yet another fabulous theme topic, supported by your own wonderful contributions and commentary.

AlanDP I believe it may be an interjection phrase thingy but I am not a grammariaticanary so ... it is possible I am mistaken. Either way you are golden!

DelGriff Yep that is the one rule I have discovered to be quite unpopular and I have previously been chastisede for not having mine posted by 2pm my time when the "rule" is evening your time.
Pretty much the only rule I know that is this way.
